The highlight
The Fantasia
The Fantasia is a Moroccan equestrian tradition: lines of riders in ceremonial dress gallop in formation and fire their rifles in a single volley. Ali Benfallah created his own Fantasia in the early 1980s, first by day, then by night after months of training the horses. It has closed the evening ever since, in an arena the size of a football pitch, under lights and fireworks.
